🧭 Follow in John Hunter's Footsteps — The Greatest Treasure Awaits!
John Hunter is an adventure-themed video slot centred around treasure hunting, now available to enjoy in full on the budak2. Unlike slots themed around Asian culture or wild animals, John Hunter takes you into a more adventurous world — following the footsteps of a fedora-wearing treasure hunter who travels to the far corners of the globe in search of ancient artefacts and riches hidden deep within age-old temples.
The game uses a standard 5-reel, 3-row layout with 25 fixed paylines. What makes John Hunter stand out isn't just its fresh and distinctive theme — it's the unique mechanic known as Money Collect, a feature that lets special coins accumulate on designated reels for an immediate, sizeable payout. When this system combines with surprise-packed Free Spins, the result is a genuinely thrilling gaming experience.
At budak2, John Hunter runs 24 hours a day without interruption. Whether you're playing during your lunch break or late at night after watching the Liga Super Malaysia or EPL, the game is always ready. Optimised for Malaysia's 4G network, players from across the country — including remote areas of Sabah and Sarawak — can enjoy sharp animations and graphics without any technical hiccups.
With medium-high volatility and an RTP of 96.50%, John Hunter strikes an excellent balance between win frequency and win size. It's neither too dry to hold your interest, nor so generous that payouts feel insignificant. For players looking for a well-rounded slot experience that rewards a bit of strategy, John Hunter at budak2 is an outstanding choice.

The deeper your understanding of these mechanics, the better your chances of becoming a successful treasure hunter
Gold coins with printed values can appear on reels 1 through 4. When the Collect symbol lands on reel 5, ALL coin values present on reels 1–4 are collected and paid out at once. This can result in a massive win from a single spin.
Land 3 or more Scatter symbols (Treasure Map) to trigger 10 free spins. During Free Spins, the game's theme shifts to one of four adventure worlds, each featuring special symbols with higher values.
Every Money Collect win that occurs during Free Spins carries an additional multiplier. The multiplier accumulates throughout the bonus session and can dramatically increase the value of your final payout.
The Hunter Star (Wild) appears on reels 2, 3, and 4. It substitutes for all regular symbols to complete winning combinations. The Wild can also appear with special values during certain bonus modes.
Land 3 or more Scatters during a Free Spins session to retrigger an additional 10 free spins. This means your bonus session can be extended multiple times if luck is on your side.
Can't wait for the Scatter to land? Skip the wait and buy your way straight into Free Spins for 100x your bet value. Perfect for players with a bigger bankroll who want to dive right into the John Hunter bonus mode.
If you're hearing about John Hunter for the first time, the first thing you need to understand is the Money Collect mechanic — because this is what truly sets the game apart from most other slots out there budak2.
On every spin, gold coins can appear in any position on reels 1 through 4. Each coin displays a value — ranging from as low as 0.5x your bet to as high as 200x your bet. Notably, these coins don't pay out on their own. They simply wait — until the Collect symbol lands on reel 5.
When the Collect symbol lands on reel 5, it's John Hunter's signal to claim all the treasure accumulated throughout that spin. All coin values from reels 1 through 4 are added together and paid out to you in one go. Picture a scenario where reel 1 holds a 25x coin, reel 2 a 50x, reel 3 a 30x, and reel 4 an 80x — when Collect appears, you receive 185x your bet value in a single spin!
It's a straightforward concept, but incredibly exciting when it actually happens. And at budak2, we regularly receive reports from players who are genuinely surprised by how much a single lucky Money Collect spin can pay out. Many share stories of playing at RM1 per spin, only to suddenly land a Money Collect that returns over RM500 in one hit.
Alongside regular coins with fixed values, there are also special coins marked "Mini", "Minor", "Major", and "Grand Jackpot". When one of these jackpot coins is collected during a Collect, its value is based on the progressive jackpot meter that has been accumulating — not a fixed amount. This means jackpot winnings can reach substantial sums depending on when you play.
When a Money Collect occurs during Free Spins mode, all coin values are multiplied by the active multiplier. If your multiplier is already at 5x and you land a Money Collect worth 100x your bet — the actual payout becomes 500x your bet. This is the most thrilling moment the entire John Hunter game has to offer.
Within the Malaysian slots community on the budak2, John Hunter has built a loyal and ever-growing fanbase. Not because it's the newest slot or the most heavily advertised — but because it's genuinely fun and consistently delivers a fair playing experience.
Its universal theme — the story of a treasure hunter — is something everyone can connect with. From childhood, most of us have imagined being an Indiana Jones or an action-film adventurer. John Hunter brings that fantasy to life in a format that's easy to play, available at your fingertips, and comes with real-money winning potential.
From a technical standpoint, one of the aspects most appreciated by players budak2 is the stability of our platform when running John Hunter. The camera-movement animations during theme transitions, the sound of running footsteps depicting the character dashing through a temple — all of this demands well-optimised software. We're proud that our players rarely, if ever, report any technical issues while playing John Hunter at budak2.
Another advantage John Hunter has over some other slots is its medium-high volatility. This means you don't have to wait too long for a satisfying win. Compared to Great Rhino, which carries higher volatility, John Hunter is more forgiving for players who don't enjoy long dry spells — while still packing the potential for big wins that can surprise you at any moment.
Experienced John Hunter players at budak2 often recommend keeping an eye on how many coins appear on the reels during regular spins. If you notice coins landing frequently across several consecutive spins without a Collect symbol showing up, it could mean a highly rewarding spin is just around the corner. Staying patient and making sure your budget can carry you through that stretch is the key.

A deeper understanding of the game helps you play more strategically
The Money Collect payout is the total combined value of all coins present on reels 1 through 4 at the moment the Collect symbol appears on reel 5. This total is then multiplied by your current bet amount. Example: If the total coin value is 120x and your bet is RM2 — the payout is RM240.
During Free Spins, the game randomly selects one of four adventure themes. Each theme features symbols with different values. The Ancient Greece theme generally offers the highest-value symbols, followed by Egypt, Amazon, and Pacific. That said, all themes have the potential to deliver massive wins through the Money Collect mechanic.
Coins marked Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand can appear during any spin. When collected via the Collect symbol, the payout is based on the corresponding progressive jackpot meter, which accumulates contributions from all players currently playing at the same time. The Grand Jackpot is the most valuable and can reach exceptionally large sums.
John Hunter's Autoplay mode at budak2 lets you set a win limit, loss limit, and number of spins. Once any of these limits is reached, Autoplay stops automatically. This feature is designed to help players stay in control and play more responsibly.
John Hunter is an adult entertainment game for players aged 18 and above. Set a budget limit before you start and stick to it. For more information on responsible gaming, visit Responsible Gaming page ours.
Picture yourself relaxing at home over the weekend, watching football or your favourite show. Phone in hand, your budak2 is open, and John Hunter is loaded. You set Autoplay for 100 spins at RM0.50 per bet — a total stake of RM50 for this relaxed session.
On the 34th spin, the reels come to a stop and you spot three gold coins landing on reels 1, 2, and 4 — worth 20x, 45x, and 30x respectively. That already adds up to 95x. You hold your breath. Then the Collect symbol appears on reel 5. A win of RM47.50 hits your balance in an instant — nearly matching your entire session's starting stake, all from a single spin.
This isn't a made-up story. This is the kind of experience many players budak2 share when asked about their most thrilling moments playing John Hunter. The Money Collect mechanic creates a uniquely suspenseful experience — every time a coin lands on a reel, you start mentally tallying the cumulative value, hoping the Collect symbol will appear on reel 5 to sweep them all up.
At budak2, we also take pride in the processing speed we offer. When players win — whether from a standard Money Collect or a highly rewarding Free Spins session — the winnings are credited to their account balance instantly. And when they're ready to withdraw, our 5-minute withdrawal turnaround is a promise we take seriously.
Within budak2's extensive game collection, John Hunter occupies a unique niche.
